Resourcing further education colleges, chaplains and churches to work in creative partnership

Interested in opportunities to engage with your local college? Based in Birmingham, Black Country, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire or Worcestershire? The WM region has its very own Further Education Chaplaincy Ambassador, who can help support and facilitate partnerships between colleges and local churches/faith communities. Our fist chaplaincy ambassador, Phil Metcalf, served from Jan. 2018 to Dec. 2020 – we are shortly hoping to advertise the post again (watch this space for further details!). This initiative has been jointly funded and supported by the Anglican Dioceses of Coventry and Lichfield, the Heart of England Baptist Association, WM Synod of the URC and St Peter’s Saltley Trust, with support from the West Midlands Churches’ FE Council.
WMCFEC are proud to present 5 short films on Further Education and Chaplaincy, produced by Mazo Creative Agency and made in partnership with three colleges in our region: North Warwickshire & South Leicestershire College, Burton & South Derbyshire College, and Halesowen College. Does your church or group of churches neighbour a further education college, and you’d like to know how to relate to it better? Members of WM Churches’ FE Council are available to come and speak at church councils, circuit meetings, deanery chapters, ministers’ gatherings or similar. We can brief you on the shape of the further education sector and opportunities to partner creatively with your local college.
